The fourth Grieg-financed school was officially opened 19th of december. We experienced a minor delay, this however did not spoil the joy for the 440 students who now have started their education in the facilities, nor for the entire local community. We are satisfied to see plenty of happy faces, and to have completed yet another successful school project in rural Madagascar.
We started the construction of the fourth Grieg Foundation-financed school in july 2019. The brick is being produced locally and the project consist of the main building holding 400 students, two toilet buildings, teachers housing, library, cantina and two wells.

The selection below presents a view of brick production and strength testing of the bricks. We manufacture all brick on site with our own machinery, operated by local workers. The pictures also show the various elements develop from ground work to finalized buildings, furthermore inspection of rock delivered to the site - a significant part of our quality system.
In the last image of the series, a single tree is fighting for its right to exist on a small oasis of soil in the eroded landscape. The symbolics are obvious. Our goal is that knowledge and learning for the next generation will contribute to a stronger foundation for both humans and trees.
